To all the adults out there: think back to the day you got your licence. More often than not, this is one of the most uplifting and exciting times in a young person’s life. We always seem to relish that moment as the first step of many in our driving career; what comes next? The car itself.
Learning to drive is an exciting time for most individuals. The prospect of driving alone and having the freedom to go wherever you want, whenever you want, is a tantalizing idea that helps us enthusiastically approach the learning portion of our driving careers.
These days, regulations and standardized licensing and permits involved with operating a commercial trucking vehicle is the norm. All reputable drivers and owner/operators in the province of British Columbia have had to adhere to the national standards supported by provincial regulations as part of the updated National Safety Code Program since April of 2013, when the code was reviewed to improve commercial vehicle safety in BC.
The parking lot is a unique microcosm of complex and puzzling human behaviors. These wide open spaces are ironically some of the most cramped feeling, and driving at 5-10 km/hour can make people feel as though they’re speeding.
